Wake the Lake

Reviving the city’s water bodies; turning them into community-nurtured spaces
16 lakes impacted directly and indirectly
Our objectives:
  • Free the lake from garbage, effluents and other pollutants; restore the water quality.
  • Revive the eco-system in and around the lake by creating micro climate for aquatic flora and fauna.
  • Bring about community ownership through active volunteerism.
Volunteer testimonial

“United Way’s role is primarily to play the bridge between corporates who have funds under their annual CSR budget and MAPSAS who needs these funds for upkeep of the lakes that are in dire need of maintenance. We thank them for helping corporates reach community initiatives like ours.” - Priya Ramasubban, Trustee MAPSAS* (Managing Kaikondrahalli Lake)
