Passionate about nurturing social initiatives, scaling up not–for–profit organizations and advising businesses on community investments, Manish is a certified Corporate Social Responsibility professional from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He was awarded the prestigious Ford Foundation Fellowship to do a Masters in Human Rights and Development from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom.
Manish has represented Indian youth at several national and international forums including the Asian and World Youth leaders’ meets in Taipei and Rome respectively. He has served communities in North and South India as well as in West Africa.
David brings over nine years of experience in social development. It includes a stint as a Senior Executive Officer at CRY (Child Rights and You), where he facilitated and handheld partner organizations to evolve child centric approaches. He has played a key role in implementing initiatives that foster change across the state, and has also been appointed a District Resource Person (DRP) by the Hassan District Administration to train gram panchayat members on local self governance and resource mobilization skills.
David has founded Samagra Foundation, an NGO that trains local communities on matters such as good governance, livelihood options, natural resource management/ organic farming, etc. He has also published reference manuals on government schemes for the rural poor and for community education on panchayat raj institutions.
Krithika is passionate about making a difference to the community. She manages volunteering initiatives for our flagship campaigns, Wake the Lake and Born Learning, and liaises with all our corporate partners.
Krithika graduated from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore, and went on to pursue her Masters in Social Work from Christ University, Bangalore. She initially worked at Globe Trippers, a travel club for kids below six years, but joined the development sector soon after that. Before joining United Way Bengaluru, she was an Associate at Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy.
Reena comes with nine years of experience in journalism and PR. Before joining United Way Bengaluru, she worked at newspapers like the Vijay Times, Bangalore, and other media houses. She holds a Masters degree in Communication from Manipal Institute of Communication.
Vinod is a commerce graduate from Bangalore University and has over seven years of experience with FCI, working in accounts and administration. After completing his ITI training, Vinod initially worked in the electronic and manufacturing industry.
He has been an active volunteer in Kerala Saksharatha Mission’s level 1 and 2 programs to achieve 100 percent literacy.
Ramachandran is a finance professional with a degree in Commerce and another degree in Cost & Management Accountancy. He has over 27 years of experience in all aspects of financial and management accounting, across industry segments such as manufacturing, logistics, and IT and ITES. Before joining United Way, he was the Senior Manager – Compliance, with MPS Limited, earlier known as Macmillan India, where he looked after the company’s statutory compliance requirements, especially service tax and customs.
Ramachandran has a keen interest in sports, particularly cricket. He has represented his school and college teams at cricket tournaments and also played in the Bangalore 1st Division League. He has also organized annual sporting events for the Greater Bangalore Industries Association for several years.
Along with a Masters in Social Work, Girish has 14 years of experience in social development, which includes being a State Program Officer at KROSS (Karnataka Regional Organization for Social Service), handling 11 partners spread over 4,000 villages in Karnataka. He was instrumental in implementing multiple programs to bring about holistic and qualitative changes in the lives of the poor and the marginalized.
He has also worked with Water Life India, Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society (KSAPS), Women & Child Development Department, Campaign Against Child Labour-Karnataka (CACL-K) and Action Aid Karnataka Project.
Girish is also a trainer in the areas of health, child rights, good governance, networking, and lobbying and advocacy.
Ajay works as our campaigner under the “Wake the Lake” and “Born Learning” projects. He manages and co-ordinates with various personnel appointed for the upkeep of lakes, implements the backend work for volunteering events and liaisons with the BBMP officials on a monthly basis. He has a Masters degree in political science from Bengaluru University.
Mahesh is mainly responsible for the two flagship campaigns of the company ‘Wake the Lake’ and ‘Born Learning’ in Bangalore. He has 15 years of experience in the development sector and was earlier associated with organizations such as Jagruthi, Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT), Shell Foundation, Shankara Eye Hospital Bengaluru, the Akshayapatra Foundation and others.
He is certified in Six Sigma Black belt from Anexas Denmark and in ISO 9001 Internal Auditor from DNV. He has a Post Graduate degree in Psychology from Bengaluru University.
Venkatesh worked on agricultural land in his hometown in Mandya district, before beginning his career as an office assistant in Bengaluru. He worked in an advertising firm called 'Out of the Box' for six years before joining United Way Bengaluru. While performing his regular tasks here, Venkatesh also assists in volunteering activities and supports with data entry work.
