The previous year has been extremely significant for us. We have scaled up the community initiatives in all the above mentioned areas including various volunteer engagements, rural development and community engagements.
This year, United Way Bengaluru grew in leaps and bounds, garnering nearly 300 percent growth in terms of donations. The volunteers grew from 1600 to 7500 in just two years. The two flagship projects, ‘Born Learning Campaign’ and ‘Wake the Lake” .
This year United Way Bengaluru witnessed a sustained growth in terms of corporate support and donations. Nearly 240 children were positively impacted through our ‘Born Learning Campaign’ and 22 children moved out off third grade malnutrition.
From taking its nascent step in the previous years, United Way Bengaluru managed to gain some foothold in terms of donations and CSR partnership. Nine BLC centres were introduced, seven lakes were taken up for rejuvenation and 1600 volunteers from around the city pledged to work with us.
